     Health care within the Houston metroplex is state-of-the-art and people travel from around the world to obtain its health care services. Within the 15-county area surrounding Houston, over 100 hospitals are in operation with more than 50 of these located in the city. Many of these facilities are concentrated in the world renowned Texas Medical Center, located just south of downtown Houston. The Texas Medical Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to health education, research, and patient care, and offers world class facilities for general and specialized medical needs.

     A full complement of physicians and surgeons practice in the Clear Lake area. The four area hospitals have over 1000 beds. Houston hospitals offer leading edge techniques and research by outstanding physicians, and training for our future specialists at Baylor College of Medicine.

ELDERLY CARE

     The Clear Lake Area is striving to meet the increased needs of senior adults. Harbour View Care Center, located in the South Shore Harbour area of League City, offers complete nursing rare, twenty four hours a day as well as assisted living. Residents are admitted upon recommendation of a physician. Village On The Park, located in Friendswood, is a residential community designed with the independent senior in mind. Manor Care and Lake View Health Care Center are located in Webster, and provide complete nursing rare.
