CLEAR
LAKE AREA DEMOGRAPHICS
DEFINITION:
Clear Lake is located midway between downtown Houston to the north and
Galveston Island to the south. The Clear Lake area includes Clear Lake
City, which is within the Houston city limits, Clear Lake Shores, El Lago,
Kemah, League City, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, Taylor lake Village, Webster,
and nearby Friendswood, as well as un-incorporated sections of Harris
County.
Clear
Lake City is the American dream brought to life by Friendswood Development
Company, a subsidiary of Exxon Corporation. This is one community that
gives you the chance to raise a young family, or welcome a grown one back
for visits, in small town comfort while still enjoying metropolitan sophistication.
It's the kind of nurturing atmosphere where families grow best. A place
that plays a major role in the living and learning, the fun and friendships
of a lifetime.
According
to Robert F. Hodgin, associate professor of economics in the School of
Business and Public Administration, University of Houston-Clear Lake,
available data clearly hails Clear Lake as an area whose time has come.
The Clear Lake area is one of the fastest growing communities of its size
in the country. Residents rank among the most highly educated and trained
in the region.
